The Tea About Me (Post #0)

Hey everyone! My name is Asia, I am a freshman at a university. I am an English major on a Creative Writing track. I plan to become an English professor at New York University. I enjoy reading and writing (obviously). For me, reading is a form of relaxation and unwinding from a stressful day. I also dabble in singing and dancing in the bathroom, and occasionally in my room... where NO ONE can see me. I love to cook and learn new things. I am certified in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. I enjoy doing web design and using computers.

When I was in high school, I used a Chromebook which are basically laptops that can be folded into a tablet. It was very lightweight and convenient which allowed for me to carry it to class and back home with no troubles. Towards the end of my senior year, my school purchased Smart Boards for the teachers to use. It was a familiar and cool new addition to each classroom. The boards allowed for more classroom engagement and a change in scenery.

In this class, I hope to strengthen the skills I have from gaining my certification. This class will teach me new skills that will also strengthen my computer skills. I have created websites and blogs just for fun so I am hoping that the class will help me learn new things about the settings and website design that I did not know before. This class will hopefully help me to learn some of the technology I will be using for when I become a professor.Creative Commons License

  1. Hmm...It seems like you are already an expert in MS Office. This is a kind of intro class. I am not sure if you will learn more new skills but at least you can expand your horizon in regards to using technology in education.

  2. Hi Asia, its so cool to hear that you want to be a professor! I want to be one as well (in Ethnomusicology or History) and I want to shape the things we learn in this course to help me in a higher education context. I think that in higher education technology can be used in more ways that can help students learn in new and more creative ways.
