Blog Post #9

The Flipped Classroom is a type of learning design that reverses the traditional learning environment by delivering instructional content, usually online, outside of the classroom. This design is beneficial for children to be able to retain information better, if they practice at home and come back to class they will be more knowledgeable on the topic. College is basically a "flipped classroom", we sit in class then go home to teach ourselves the material. We then apply what we have learned to quizzes and exams.

Open Educational Resources are teaching and learning materials that may be used freely reused, without having to pay. An example of this would be LumenLearning.com. They provide affordable course materials designed to strengthen learning using OERs. Learning is about student success as well as affordability and access, they apply learning science insights and learning data analysis to develop iterative improvements to our course materials and learning tools.

Assignment #4
Doing these PowerPoint assignments were very entertaining and I learned many new things that I did not know about before. I did not know about how to create a game using this medium, I did not think to hyperlink the slides to a button. I also did not know about placing a PowerPoint in kiosk mode, that stops the user from operating the slides with keys. This is good for making a book, a game, or something else interactive for students.
